  • Researching and extracting design principles from art of ancient era

  • These principles can be extended to designing aesthetically designing websites and mobile applications. My work was to explore ways to apply the Golden Ratio in the designs that provides a pleasant user experience. This experience helped me to review my earlier work executed in designing wireframes for a mobile application

  • The overall business requirement was for mobile users with dual SIM phones to be able to monitor the data usage while on roaming and WiFi connections.

  • Also developed the navigation flowcharts and a detailed wireframe that captured the functionality desired. A working prototype was then developed using MockPlus that demonstrated the features, functions and navigation design of the application

Final semester project - Pervasive and non-intrusive method of activity recognition using sensors

Final semester project - Data storage and retrieval on cloud using Hadoop and MapReduce

  • This proof of concept project was part of a larger research project undertaken by the University. My contribution enabled to analyse and monitor users’ smoking patterns in their daily life

  • Leveraging sensors such as 3-axis Accelerometer, Photoplethysmogram and Electrodermal Activity sensors are used to recognize the activity of smoking

  • Setting up protocols for users to follow in a data collection exercise/experiment 

  • Labelling data according to activities and using Machine Learning  algorithm to recognise smoking activity for future data

 

  • HTML, CSSand Javascript to design the front end of a cloud sorage website

  • Xml was used to manage and maintain the file hierarchy

  • MYSql and JSP to manage user accounts and verification of users for login

  •  Unique functionality in this project - Optimised Hadoop and MapReduce algorithm to provide word level search during data retrieval.
